- Uncorrected learning errors are responsible for most learning difficulties.
Formative learning is a learning method where undertaking the assessments themselves constitute a learning experience in its own right. For that to be effective, the assessments have to be designed in a way that taking them results in learning. The adaptive cue-based learning capsules in ElCues.com have been designed keeping this objective in mind
Adaptive Learning method is based on the premise that every child has his/her own learning speed, and the learning method must adapt itself to that for it to be most effective.
Elements from all of above have been used while designing ElCues.com Learning method.
The objective of ElCues.com is to fill in the gaps in learning that exist in the traditional learning method and other currently available solutions. Focus on coaching and incessant problem teaches students techniques to solve problems, but does not always impart the deeper fundamental concepts . The result is that in-spite of all the practice, there is generally a sense of helplessness and lack of confidence among the students. The exam patterns have also started to change: CBSE has introduced HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions in its exams from this year, and IITs are also talking about changing their entrance exam patterns, which currently favours students who have taken coaching.
The ElCues Learning method has been designed to satisfy above objectives.
How to use ElCues.com
Elcues Learning method has to be used in conjunction with the regular school education. For best results, practice tests followed by Cue-based Learning, followed again by practice tests is recommended. You can take these tests any number of times.
ElCues.com is not intended to replace the school teaching or text-books. So before attempting an ElCues Learning module, the student must have learned that topic in school or studied that topic from the text book. ElCues.com will then reinforce the concepts and knowledge by applying them on interesting formative questions and helping students solve the problems by giving cues. The learning modules capture the wisdom of some of the best teachers. Other than the learning module, a set of tests are also there for students to further practice and test their proficiency on the particular topic.
Based on results of using similar learning methods in real-life situation, we believe that the learning which ordinarily happens in top-achievers would be attainable by about eighty percent of students using this method.
Adaptive cue-based learning method

The important thing here is that cues will be given only if the student needs it. The interactive nature of the learning will determine the learning level of the student and will continuously adapt the learning process accordingly. This will ensure that the student will spend more time on topics where he/she needs more learning, and less time on those where he/she is already proficient.
The learning module will work with the student to reinforce the concepts and knowledge, and help them relate the learnings to real-life scenarios. Such reinforcements and context-setting have proven to be very effective learning tools. For problems which students are not able to solve, the learning module will take him/her through a cue-based session, in which answers will be extracted from the student by carefully designed cues. The cues are designed to encourage thinking, reinforce concepts, and unravel complex problems through successive simplifications. This is a very different approach than just giving out ready made solutions, which do not result in development of thinking and problem solving skills among students.
Currently ElCues.com is being offered for CBSE syllabus, Maths and Science, Grades 6-10. But students of other boards can also benefit from taking the learning modules of various topics which are common across boards. We will soon be offering it for more grades and more boards.
